I'm RUINED.
Yup, I'm starting this post with such an ominous sounding sentence.
Again, I'm RUINED.
Before anyone wonder if I have lost my marbles (which I don't have...), let me clarify things up.
I've always stuck to good, ol' Japanese manga, and have never thought of reading any manhwa before, and then, due to some divine outer Yaoi God, I've stumbled upon a good written recommendation for the yaoi manhwa--Totally Captivated. Needless to say, I felt a deep sense of fan girl purpose and went to download it, eager to see what the fuss was about.
When I finished the first volume, I realized that I was actually anxiously holding my breath by the last page. It was like I was struck by lightning, and couldn't move until I had finished the manhwa.
After that, I read the next few volumes at an alarming pace, forsaking sleep and even got a good nagging from my mum for sitting too long in front of my laptop...
It was with a deep sense of euphoria and wistfulness that I finished the manhwa, and even with the deliciously fulfilling doujinshi, my mind, heart and soul of a yaoi fangirl keeps screaming for more--that's just how good the manhwa is.
Everything from the gorgeous and cute drawings to the seemingly cliched yet unexpectedly refreshing plot--Totally Captivated had managed to do what the name suggests--totally captivating my attention.
This is the kind of manga/manhwa that once you read them, everything else pales in comparison, leaving you like a starved beast without any fulfilling food to feast on.
The only other time I had felt so was when I read the Viewfinder series by Yamane Ayano sensei. And now, I couldn't help but curse Yu Ha Jin (the mangaka) for not making the story longer and insert a more complete ending, even though I love her/him to bits for creating such a wonderful and completed series~
Needless to say, I'll be re-reading the manhwa for a long time to come... XD
